2025 Ride California

Riding Strong: Celebrating Women in the Wind and Their Unforgettable Rides Through Santa Maria and San Simeon

If you were anywhere near Santa Maria in spring 2024 and heard the rumble of engines mixed with laughter and camaraderie, you probably witnessed something special: the Women in the Wind “Ride California” event, hosted by the incredible L.O.C.A.L. chapter. And get ready, because they’re doing it again in 2025—this time rolling through the breathtaking coastal beauty of San Simeon.

At Central Coast Personal Injury Law, we see a lot of the aftermath when things go wrong on the road. But what we love most is celebrating the people who ride with purpose, power, and community. And when it comes to that, Women in the Wind (WITW) and the L.O.C.A.L. (Ladies of Central Area Locations) chapter are absolutely leading the way.

Who Are Women in the Wind?

If you don’t already know about WITW, let me just say—you’re missing out. Founded in 1979, WITW is a truly trailblazing international organization made up of women who love motorcycles and love supporting each other. These women ride for the joy of it, but they also ride to empower, to advocate, and to change the narrative about who belongs on a bike.

They’re not just bikers. They’re leaders, mentors, and straight-up badasses who make every road a little brighter (and a lot more fun).

2024: Santa Maria Showed Up and Showed Out

The 2024 “Ride California” event was hosted in Santa Maria by the L.O.C.A.L. chapter, and it was nothing short of awesome.

Hundreds of riders from all over came to the Central Coast to cruise through wine country, farmland, and coastal highways, all while celebrating what it means to be a woman on two wheels. The ride was smooth, the weather was perfect, and the vibes were even better.

We have so much love for the women of the L.O.C.A.L. chapter. They didn’t just plan a great ride—they created a space where riders felt welcomed, empowered, and connected. And it wasn’t just about the ride itself. There were safety talks, community events, local business support, and moments of connection that went way deeper than the road.

If you were there, you know: this wasn’t just a motorcycle event. It was a movement.

2025: San Simeon, Get Ready

This coming May (May 15–18, 2025, to be exact), WITW is back at it again—this time cruising through San Simeon. If you’ve ever ridden Highway 1 along the coast, you already know this is going to be a jaw-droppingly gorgeous ride. Think ocean cliffs, wildflowers, the breeze off the Pacific, and one of the most iconic motorcycle backdrops in the world.

And guess what? It’s hosted by three powerhouse chapters: L.O.C.A.L., Steel’n Hearts, and Fire and Ice. That’s a trifecta of excellence right there.

Not only will there be epic rides, but they’re also planning stops at iconic Central Coast spots like Hearst Castle and the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery. It’s going to be a mix of history, wildlife, and highway freedom that only the Central Coast can offer.

What We Admire Most

At our law firm, we’ve met plenty of motorcyclists. But there’s something truly special about the women of WITW and L.O.C.A.L. They ride with intention. They ride with heart. And they ride for each other.

They’ve built a community where riders are supported whether they’re first-timers or lifelong gearheads. They advocate for safety, for visibility, and for the sheer joy of the open road.

We admire their grit, their grace, and their commitment to making space for women in what’s long been a male-dominated world. The motorcycle industry is better because of them. The roads are better because of them. And honestly, the world’s better because of them.

A Note on Motorcycle Safety (Because We Can’t Help Ourselves)

We’d be doing a disservice if we didn’t also talk about safety. We represent motorcyclists and their families after accidents—some of them devastating. So we always encourage riders (and drivers) to keep safety front and center.

If you’re participating in the 2025 ride (or just cruising on your own), here are some friendly reminders:

  • Gear up. Helmets, jackets, gloves, boots. ATGATT. Protect yourself—every ride, every time.

  • Ride in formation. WITW does an amazing job teaching safe group riding etiquette. Follow their lead. Staggered formation, clear hand signals, and respect for the ride.

  • Be seen. Bright gear and reflective materials go a long way—especially during foggy mornings on the coast.

  • Know your rights. If you’re ever involved in an accident, it’s important to understand your legal options. Insurance companies don’t always play fair, especially with motorcyclists. That’s where we come in.

We offer free, confidential case evaluations, and if we can’t help you, we’ll point you in the right direction. We’re here for the riding community, and that includes you.

Supporting Riders—On and Off the Road

One of the reasons we’re so inspired by WITW and L.O.C.A.L. is because they’re not just about riding. They’re about supporting one another. Whether it’s a fellow rider going through a tough time or advocating for safety and education, they show up.

That’s our philosophy too. We don’t run a big, impersonal firm. When people call us, they talk to us—real people who care. We treat every client like family, and we fight like hell to make sure they’re treated fairly.

If you or someone you love has been injured in a motorcycle accident—whether during a big ride or just a solo trip down the coast—don’t hesitate to reach out. We get it. We ride too (or used to), and we know what’s at stake.

Final Thoughts

To every rider in Women in the Wind, especially the amazing folks at L.O.C.A.L.: thank you. Thank you for your passion, your leadership, and your love for the road. Thank you for creating spaces where women can ride boldly, safely, and unapologetically.

We’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines in 2025—and we’re just a phone call away if you ever need us.

Ride safe. Ride strong. And never forget—you’ve got a whole community behind you.

Central Coast Personal Injury Law proudly supports the motorcycle community across Santa Maria, San Simeon, and beyond. If you’ve been hurt in an accident, reach out for a free case evaluation. We’re here to help you get the justice you deserve.
