John was born and raised in Salinas. He started working at law firms when he was just 17 years old. Throughout college, at UC Davis, and Law School, at Thomas Jefferson (where he met Clay), he worked under local trial legend Sam Lavorato. Then, he went to work for an employment defense firm representing large agricultural companies. But, John was always called to represent the "little guy" so he opened his own firm in 2010 so he could represent employees who had been harmed by big, bad corporations.
Since then he has become one of the most reputable lawyers in the United States. He has been recognized by his peers as a SuperLawyer, by independent rating site AVVO as a "Top Attorney", and by the National Advocates as one of the top 40 labor and employment lawyers under 40 in the United States.
He has recovered millions upon millions for his clients including teenagers who were retaliated against for exercising their rights and more than 70,000 security guards in class action litigation. He has represented people who have been hurt by others, and people who blew the whistle on others. He has taken on Fortune 50 companies, and even the Courts themselves in the pursuit of justice for his clients.
When he's not helping people who have been harmed by others, John spends time with his wife and family, hikes, mountain bikes, plays guitar, brews beer, and devoutly follows the San Francisco Giants.
